Hey Little Girl

Hey Little Girl

A Poem by Zephaniah Devon
"

A poem about why a girl shouldn't commit suicide.

"
Hey little girl, put down that kinfe do you hear?
Don't let demons whisper lies in your ear.
You may feel the need to write on your arms,
But try not to do yourself any harm.
Stop!
Close your lovely eyes and take a deep breath,
Please, you must realize there's some hope left.
Throw away those pills, you're too young to die.
All you must do is learn your battle-cry.
Shout!
Go and scream your self-worth from the rooftops,
Let them all know that you will never stop.
Your precious life is worth more than you think,
You might feel it, but you're not on the brink.
Live!
The important thing is to keep trying,
Until your life is more satisfying.
Hey little girl, put down that knife.
