Forever Blue

Forever Blue

A Poem by Zeldablue

Visions of your face
haunt my esoteric thoughts
as I close my eyes and
exhale the memory of you
from my lungs.

I inhale
and choke on the clouds
of unspoken words
left behind,
leaving me breathless
and
struggling for air.

I gasp
and search frantically
for you in the darkness,
but you're lost within the
melancholic shadows
of the beautiful disaster
you left me with.

The quiet tranquility
of my universe destroyed with
the bomb you detonated in my chest,
spraying pieces of my heart into the
atmosphere like a
cataclysmic Valentines Day.

I watch helplessly
as what is left of me trickles
back down to earth
in a blizzard of misery.
It wraps me in a blanket of sadness
and sings a melody of
sweet lullabies
close to my ears.

The waterfall of tears I cry
flood my hollow remains,
drowning me in a river of loneliness.
And without you there to save me,
I shall remain
Forever Blue

I’m not a huge fan of heartbreak poems (just becuz there are so many of them) but your poem is irresistible becuz of the way you artfully describe the heartbreak situation. You use a ton of vivid details & you use lots of imagination as you describe being dumped in ways that make it sound like a beautiful tapestry instead of a toilet experience! Amazing how you did that! I almost enjoyed being dumped! Your imagery is beautifully written (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
