Beautiful day

Beautiful day

A Poem by Zee Langa
"

What can stop you from having a beautiful day?

"
Light shinning through to the enclosure of my room.
Opening my eyes to the bright colourful morning.
Shall my day be yellow like a sunflower,
Blossoming with beauty in the morning and sleeping away my sorrows at night;
Or will it be red like the roses I wish to plant in my garden?
You've filled with me with so much passion in my heart that will sustain me till I close my eyes for the day.

I don't know how my day will look like,
But feel the bounce beneath my step filled with the softness and purity of my heart.
Look at the glow in my eyes as they foresee the opportunities that lie before me.
How could I forget the radiance that spreads out everytime I shift my lips to a smile.
I don't care how my day looks like but I know this:

My joy will not be swallowed by earthquakes people try to pull out of me with anger.
The happiness I've longed for shall be at my disposal from the moment I step out of my bedroom door.
And yes, tears of joy will rain down on the dams of my sorrows and purify them.
I don't care how my day looks like,
But one thing I know is that my day is beautiful.
