The Man of EternityA Story by Zebulon PoeMy first attempt at generating a story just by sitting in front of a computer, and simply letting it flow. The man, is a lonely soul, as he has passed far outside the normal realm of what mortal man could even fathom, yet he retains a simple life. This being, born of the earth, raised with great moral standards, now speaks on levels only gods should be allowed. At a time when he thought the world itself was going to crumble beneath him, a miracle intervened. In an instant, this average man from the suburbs of an ordinary town, in a small state of America, moved beyond his world. To your average person, the concept of being outside of time is altogether foreign. Only gods have the right to exist in this realm, usually claiming, "I am the Alpha, and the Omega", as the realm that does not age gives them this power. He arrives with a thought of what he had just done, and finds himself unable to cope with the images he sees. By simply thinking, "future", he sees everything around him begin to tear away, as people begin to blur, then disappear altogether. The next thing he knows, entire buildings are worn away, and the sky itself leaks away into space. At the rate he is traveling, eons pass every second, until the world is barren of atmosphere and life, and the sun is nothing but a small white pinprick in the sky. He begins to cringe at what he sees, and leans forward, which propels him through space at a rate that only time could explain, for he skips to places astronomers could only dream of. The man tries to focus, and thinks, "Earth, now", and a white glowing object appears before him, which is a representation of the entire history of the planet. He looks at this, then remembers that he is in space, but isn't suffocating, as his lungs, body, mind, and spirit are based in time, therefore nothing that would ordinarily hurt him can affect him any longer. With this realization, he comes to accept this world as a dream, and launches himself into it with the thoughts of it only being a dream. Unfortunately for the universe, a dreaming man can wreck all kinds of havoc in a mere moments notice.
The man begins by grabbing hold of the Earth, then plunging it into the depths of space, totally unaware of what he has....
Man doesn't need the power of God.
