You're Piercing Blue Eyes

You're Piercing Blue Eyes

A Poem by Zee Norton-Williams

You're piercing blue eyes

look right through me

you see into my soul

you see all of me

I let you in without even knowing it

I'm still trying as hard as I can to fight it

but I'm in the ring with a never defeated champion

of the heart

you stole everything I had locked away

you picked my locks like they was butternut squash

and by god I'm glad you did

because the love you taught me is so damn good

the love You're still teaching me

and I hope always will

its melting me at my core

like mount Vesuvius setting off again

you relit something inside of me

that I didn't even know still existed

chipping away at my magma crust

and electrifying the tectonic plates of my heart

You're piercing blue eyes

look right through me

you see into my soul

you see all of me

and I'm loving every second of it
