Promise

Promise

A Poem by Zee Norton-Williams
"

Not really a poem but didn't know what else to call it... Written with no sleep so forgive me if you think it's bad or disagree.

"
Children are free.
How amazing that must be.
The first 5 or 7 years of a life,
how incredible must that feel?
Not everyone can remember,
we forget over the years everything we didn't know,
every feeling we were untouchable by.

We seem to think as Humans;
As we get older we get smarter.
But children you see they have it right.
They don't feel hate.
They don't know of pain,
or heart ache.
They learn everyday,
they see beauty in everything and everyone.
They are yet to learn the pain,
the bad and the evil of this world.

Children hold the secret to true happiness,
we held the secret but as you gain your years...
you lose all of what you learnt.
You lose how to be happy with out trying,
without depending on someone/something to do it for you.
You lose the sense of bravery (yes a child is scared of the dark but thats because it is yet unknown) a child is not afraid of the world,
no they see heroes and people that do great things,
they want to be those people Fireman or policeman or something else,
but then they grow up and they lose that.
Some of them end up end up sad because they forgot there real dream.

Children are amazing they hold the key,
to what we should have. To what we need,
to truly be happy... Or that's what I believe

(And every child should grow up lucky enough to remember their dreams and become something/someone great and happy!)

I do believe this and we should try and raise our next generation/s to believe in their dreams and there never stupid or wrong because if it will make them happy then they will do great things one day I truly believe that.

I think this is a very touching writing. This is the first time I have ever read any of your writings and just from just reading this one I would love to read more. Great job and please keep writing.

So true I mean when we are children we are free for a moment that is from societys rules/roles. I mean we can just exist for a little while without having to fufil some commitment/dissapoint people. And as the burdens of growing up pile on and on it's hard to remember what freedom tasted like. Great job! Keep it up!

True to every word. I agree with you. Happiness is in the simpler things that we forget as we grow older. Thanks for sharing.
