Nutritionist, diabetes or
dietician
All to be unheeded in my
sweet tooth's opinion.

For how can I abandon
That chocolate canyon?

And same goes for yummy
chocolate fudge
Or to a trifle could I bear
any grudge?

Ah, treacle or caramel pudding
And apple crumble needs no
bidding

The craving wishes to devour
the dessert
Few would desert a tasty jam
tart!

Don't just fondle me honey, I'm fond of cake fondant
Meringue on my sweet tongue, creamy vermicelli
All that suits my sweet tempered nature
Bear with me if the sweet terms sound redundant

Not forgetting swiss rolls and iced
cup cakes
and whatever other
sweetmeats the baker bakes.

From smoothies so delicious
To whipped cream mousse
All so creamy and scrumptious
Maybe not highly nutritious

Ah custards, ice-creams,
muffins and jellies
the only deterrent perhaps, the
fear of rounded bellies

Only if the dietician would
recommend instead
to cut down on leafy grassy
veggie salad

For if there was for it a polling
booth
I'd vote in favour of my sweet
tooth!

My sweet toot vouches for the toothsome desserts always
The sweet rich goodies and confections , treats for holidays

• I named only English sweetmeats and desserts as most writers here are English speaking westerners but my real fav desserts and sweetmeats are Indian ones such as Kheer rice pudding ...
Gulab jamun (cupcake in syrup.) ...   halwa . ...Rasgulla. ...and
barfi.(Indian crumpet cookie)
...Kulfi (pistachio ice cream)

Hello my friend. Hope you are doing OK. You know I have a sweet tooth too. I am partial to chocolate biscuits, cheesecake, donuts and steamed puddings with custard or ice cream. I just can't help myself. I do try to be careful with the calories, but there is no way I can cut out all the stuff the dietician is telling us is killing us. Moderation is a word I like. Just reading your poem has made me want a sugar fix:)

Good to see you. Hope all is well with you and your family.

I feel like you just made me want to eat something sweet, or maybe something unhealthy to have often. The poem certainly has good imagery with the food if it's able to effect my stomach. Thanks for sharing!

Yummm, Zaynab Dear! 😋

I knew from the title and picture I should have resisted reading this scrumptious poem.
However, the further I read the more my taste buds began to dance and sing for more goodies … I love every one your knowing pen made me drool for a taste of; especially, the Indian confectionaries … ohhh-MY! Now, my eyes are bigger than my tummy and I'm headed straight to the bakery, candy, and ice cream store! 😳
Fun and ohhh-so true, who could resist? And, I love the tasty little rhyme treats you decorated with here and there … sooo delicious!

Your creative imagination sure knows how to make us smile …
big thank you HUG, Zaynab ⁓ Richard🍦
