Dandy randy Tom cat

A light humour poem to lighten moods as we phase out from pandemic spells. I like watching cat antics...

Curiosity perhaps killed many a cat
For a cat it is an inquisitive brat

It could rummage through anything even your rubbish trash
Tabby may spring on dinner table and cutlery may crash

Famous might be a cat for those famed nine lives
but not much help is that if in every danger it dives!

Its feline curiosity to crash-land it in trouble
for it tends to explore every kind of rubble.

The catty puss likes a fight and a wild-goose-chase.
Forever looking forward to amuse and amaze?

In a cat basket he's likely to be struck with ennui
Perhaps his caretaker thought only of his fengshui?

His meowing and hissing resonates in the valley
as he tussles with many rival cats in the alley

Mr. Tom cat thinks most females are saucy
but with them he acts in a way quite bossy

Wild and rough, with macho feral pride
I watch you tease and taunt in your typical stride.

No way is he kitty soft paws
Mr. Tomcat sure has the sharpest claws.

Tomcat ate the fishy leftover pudding & fish pie
and kissed the feline females and made them cry.

But my fav is my own cutie p***y darling so soft
even if she may raid the larder and loft that's aloft .

An entertaining poem! I have had several cats over the years, so yes, I like cats. But your poem reminds me of an incident involving a neighbour's cat rather than one of my own. I remember when I was a child one summer, and my father had taken a lovely joint of beef out of the oven and put it on the table to cool, before carving. The kitchen door was slightly open, and our neighbour's cat snuck in and leaped on the table, unseen. By the time my father saw the cat, it was tearing away pieces of beef and eating it! The cat was shooed away, and my father had a few stern words with our neighbour, but nothing could be done about it. Cats are cats! My father trimmed away the section of beef where the cat had been engaged, and we had to make do with a diminished beef dinner! Amusing to look back upon, but my father was vexed at the time. I enjoyed reading your poem!

This is so cute! I could see that troublesome kitty cat, getting in all kinds of mischief. You know, if the word was flat, cats would have knocked everything off of it by now. They are God's perfect killing machines, and we keep picking them up for kisses and cuddles. No wonder they have a grudge against the world. I like your whimsical rhymes!

Hii, warm warm thanks for your delightful fun comment, gahh yes they do knock things off all the time though sometimes mine can be careful and tread to avoid doing that. And im glad the cats here only kill those pesky destructive mice and rats.

This is sooo whimsically fun and entertaining.
Rhyming Couplets is one of my all-time favorite forms, and yours are beautifully laid with spot-on rhymes and a smooth syntactic flow, blessed throughout with vivid imagery and captivating metaphor.
I'm sooo pleased to know you're a cat lover, too. From his antics, your tom sounds like a naughty rascal, like one of mine.😏
I have a nice variety or three, each one different from the others. A very sweet and fluffy black, white, and golden brown Calico p***y, a medium size classic black and silver striped Tabby tom, and a BIG grey, brown, and white Brindle shorthair tom that weighs 20 Lbs/9 Kg of solid muscle. He is exactly like your tom in all their antics. He can be mean as hades, or gentle as a kitten, depending on his independently unpredictable mood … LOL!
I love your introductory verse:

I always respond with, "Curiosity may have killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back again." Yeah, I know … corny!🙄
And, of course, "But my fav is my own cutie p***y darling so soft."😳

Love the lines about Georgie Porgie pudding and pie, kiss the girls and made them cry...I like how you fitted it to your poem.
I like everything about this poem being a cat person myself....I have always had a cat since seventh grade...

first one lived to be 21, another Black Tom I had, Frank, lived to 19....

my previous one 15 years then cancer...and now three years old is Hank...she is a blast...thinks she's a dog...fetches, understands me 90 percent of the time, when I don't even understand myself.
they are crazy but so much fun.

One of my cats was killed by a dog or it had lived longer. I mostly tend to stray cats and adopt them and yeahhh they're

Cats are simply amazing and just perfect, and while they’re known for being troublemakers, I feel like we should appreciate them as long as we can. That feeling of their fur and their out of tune meow. This poem describe the bounciness of a cat so well! And all the mischievous it’d drag it’s owner into, this is written brilliantly! Having just cleaned two litter boxes, i can identify with this one. Their tendencies can be frustrating, but on the other hand, they make great companions (unless they don't feel like it, whereupon they will ignore you and go to sleep).

I'm, sorry well then that is why I saw both, when I was a kid my friends made fun of me because I like cats than dogs, and enjoy the company of women than the of man. This poem is well written and go in two directions it depends what your mind set,because both are beautiful, thank you.
