Swat the hate- hate bug

Hatred causes loss and harm only, to yourself and to others. Let's see my hater spill hate and Islmophobia nevertheless for this poem but I will try not to respond and delete or block them .

Hatred is simply a fractious bug on the brain
which doesn't always wash away with the rain
that is neither the rain of love nor that of homily

But if you solemnly profess belief
in the God right above
let this even to atheists be relief
that God only means love
for no religion preaches hatred to man or family

The wronged wishing to be placated
The tortured wishing to be avenged
Embittered humans provoked to malice and hatred
forgetting we are all but Adam's progeny and kindred
Alas, hatred's a scenario that so costs humanity

Most of us are tired of hearing
of this cause and effect'
circle of violence and repercussion
Why wilfully make yourself a target
and fall in lasting perdition?

We don't wanna hear the hate crimes is a virus
that has no earthly cure
Since compassion is a vaccine
to prevent it for sure
Yet some might think
this is easy to sing and easy to say
Gosh, but don't the world need more die-hard supporters
of peace till judgement day?

Keep the peace and spread it.!!
Do your bit, come use your wit.
Swat and squash the hate bug from your mind and heart
Promote love and compassion even with words and art

Don't constrict your heart with rancour and hate
Do all you can so hatred in the world abate

dear Zaynab... there are many Philosophies... concerning the nature of
our being alive. I believe in the Spirit born in every baby and is influenced by it's environment.
And yet there is something mysterious about the battle of good and evil. My prayers

I love this piece! I completely agree we've all had our own experience with anger, and it's so hard to live with so much hate and anger in us. It seems like the right idea at first, but hatred is such a heavy burden that weighs down on us more than anyone else. Thank you for posting such an insightful poem.

We are living in an era of grievance politics. People hate becuz the political leaders brainwash them into thinking we don't have what we deserve & other people are to blame for it, other people are stealing something away from us, and it becomes a scramble of greed & grabbing & putting the other person down when we feel s****y about ourselves. Your upbeat prescription is one of the best I've read. You don't come across one bit preachy or acting pissed like this is a tirade against hating. When some do tirades against hating, it doesn't sound like a cure becuz such missives are so full of hate at the core, a reaction against hate, but still full of hate. This is the trap you have avoided with your sweetness that doesn't come across like sugary-sweet, but just honest authentic belief in love as the answer to hate (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Since the brain resides inside a skull, and your bug of hatred resides on the brain....how on Earth does it come into contact with rain???? A classic example of just making up lines to fit the rhyme and making no sense whatsoever. You lost me in your first two lines, regardless of any message you follow through with thereafter.
