"I'd be happy to fly all the
way to 'em' faraway stars
if I was assured I'd risk
no charring scars."
You are truly soaring on the wings of love, imagination and poetry. Words do give us wings to fly that body of thought soaring with the emotions. Glad you are back and sharing your essence.

I wonder about flying when I see the number of issues birds deal with.
I am more inclined to find the concept of flying more attractive and the ability to poetically address flight, even more appealing.
However, it sounds like a great gift.

Hi, I haven't been online for a while. This is very good. Flying high is such a wonderful idea and gives the reader a brilliant picture in their minds.
Well you have certainly convinced me... maybe my future does lie up there somewhere... Very nicely penned... Poets can and do of course, often take giant leaps of faith, and occasionally they do soar and sometimes fly on the words they write and the words of others..... Thank you ... Neville

Not my newest but thanks for your soaring poetic comment, I like your ideas that sum this up.
Your poem is more than special, finely written too. But, can't help feeling that it's our words that
enable us to fly higher than imagination could ever believe. We can think, adventure, write, see and feel, what heart and mind allows. Perhaps that's what you're saying.. in your own precious way.

many humans dream to fly like birds, to be free like birds, especially when they are dreamers, poets, their imaginations go far and wide, Your words are sweetly understandable, though You don't have the birds wings, but You have Your own own ones to spared and soar with :)

It's been so long since I've read a poem that rhymes but this was great we've all dreamt that we could fly once and you wrote that beautifully.

I am sure many of us have dream't of what we would do if we could soar on the wings of eagles. Just where would we fly with all that freedom? In what land would we build our nest to roost? It certainly would be much better to fly naturally than the way we humans are destined to. I guess there is nothing wrong with dreaming.
This was a nice little poem, not too strenuous, and simply worded and rhymed. In its simplicity, a job well done.

I like your evocative thoughts on this, I would love to roost on the moon. Great to know many poets share the wish for natural flying. Glad u agree that how birds fly is better than those polluting aerodynamic powered things. I hope we fly in the afterlife, but for the earth yes we can dream of it. I really actually do.
And yes poet my poem is way simpler than your high skill proficient literary works all that I read. Hope my message will not be undermined for lack of complex eloquence. Cheers.

dear poet... yes, the birds are survivors and find shelter
and food which is amazing. We can enjoy their visits and
learn about the simple joys of enjoying nature in every season.
It would be wonderful to fly. Your poetry is clever and seems
to flow like a symphony of desire. truly, Pat
