Scenery Medley contrasts

Scenery Medley contrasts

A Poem by S.zaynab.kamoonpury

Marshes and meadows
Sunshine and shadows

Gentle ripples on the calm river
Foaming rapids in white water

The jungle echoes in the semi-darkness
while daylight creepy-crawlies clear the mess.

Peasants toiling and pheasants scratching
as I spy a cricket somersaulting

The cactus the desert's prickly femme-fatale
elsewhere a lone leaf floats in the canal

Prairie dogs go popping
while hares go hopping
and ladies go shopping

Swans have formed a V-line
The flora too is so divine
as bees nosedive in bee-line.

Seista seizes birdlovers too
Thus they miss out on the hoopoe's song
For the hoopoe, it does not sing on cue
since a bird may sing anytime to woo.

What a medley eh of scenery
Murky eve and dawning greenery

Ah, wherever you go nature's so panoramic
While we make and take pictures
God actually made what's so picturesque!

Another lovely poem. Beautifully observed details of contrasts. Nature certainly is so panoramic. It does make one realise how inadequate is mankind in comparison. But we certainly can appreciate God's picturesque scenes. Thank you for writing this poem.

Welcome. The animal kingdom in technicolour,
where everything happens for a reason.
Only spoiled when man gets involved.
Yeah, God sure did a great job.

Warmest thanx for the feedback, happy new yr.
FIrst of all, very well done. All things interconnected, though some so far apart. Each with a purpose, working independently for the one. I like it.

Yay, connected yet differ, wow I like how u summed it, thanx so much for a fine comment.
This poem reads very well. Stop me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the big message here is how everything is different and contrasting, but somehow they fit together perfectly like a puzzle. Everything is so simple on its own, but together it creates a beautiful complexity.

Well written. Good job.

This is beautifully picturesque!

The way you weave images together, complete yin and yang ideas that drive the title home, really impresses me. I couldn't pick a favorite stanza because this asks to be read in a single sitting, as one entity. Strong writing.

They say you're only as good as your last work(s), but I'm absolutely looking forward to your next! Peace!

Ah, this is beautiful! Just had flashbacks from times when I have been to Indonesia.
You see the little and most beautiful things that nature gives us and it's all brought to life in this piece and I love it! It's colourful, bright and all around fun. Very enjoyable. Makes me want to actually go outside and take a walk, if only I wasn't in such a city-like area.

You, too. You're most welcome.
I really enjoyed this poem! I enjoyed picturing each line in my mind and the clear love for nature that you wrote into it. Nature truly is beautiful. This poem reminded me how healthy it is to just go and be outside sometimes even in the cold! Great poem and thanks for the reminder of nature’s beauty.
