She Lost Her Innocence at 15

She Lost Her Innocence at 15

A Poem by Zayir
"

Trigger Warning. True story based on someone I know.

"
She lost her innocence at the age of 15
Even though she says she trusts me
I know she will never fully trust another man
She feels like a soldier fighting in Afghanistan
She cries herself to sleep at night
She's battling her demons but is losing the fight
She remembers the wickedness of his eyes
She wanted to kill herself because everyone thought she was telling lies
No amount of showering can make her feel clean
It was an event that was unforeseen
In your memory he will always remain
No one can comprehend your pain
You shouldn't have lost your innocence
Because of another man's impotence
I know you wanted to cry and scream
When you told me you lost your innocence when you were 15

Very well written, unfortunately I know a lot of girls and women who can relate to this. It's a story that is sadly a common one and isn't fair. Luckily the time something like that happened to me I had already established a healthy relationship and view of sex and sexuality so I wasn't as damaged by it afterwards, but so many are not so lucky. It breaks my heart and this poem, I think, encapsulates it perfectly. If I could give you a rating beyond 100 I'd give you 1000

I agree. I hope one day that it doesn't happen at all but it's very hard to make that happen.

This is very well written, so thank you for properly describing what something like this feels like. I can personally relate to this poem for I experienced a very similar thing, I have even written about it if you want to take a look at it. Great work here!

This is great, but I was a little spooked reading this because of how eerily similar this is to my own experience. Every last line brought back memories, and then I got my friend to read, someone who knows what happened, and even they believed it was a huge coincidence, even the age. It's beautiful, but also a little scary.

It’s very sad to know someone has to suffer like that for just being innocent. The price we pay for being weak in a world full of many brutes. Written profound.

Shocking sad and so common is rape. so glad you shared this story. She is far from alone in her turmoil
and woes. But in time the memories fade, but will always be there. But you can move on and be stronger and wiser and happy to a strong degree and love you again for you alone.

Sad tale to relate, it's good that she has found a friend to confide in. Talking helps. You conveyed her anguish well.
