I Wish You Were HereA Poem by ZayirThis is about my grandfather who I lost in October 2017
How can I be the man you expected me to be,
If you aren't here to guide me? Feels like a never ending nightmare Seeing your dead body laying there It took all of myself strength to not break down right then and there Broke my heart when I saw my grandmother crying I wish I could say I've moved on but I'd be lying, I look in her eyes and all I see is pain I still want to cry when I say your name, I feel numb like I've been hit by a cold wave, I know I won't be the man you want me to be But I will be the man my family needs me to be I lost part of myself that day, I just wish you were here today...
