"Note #4"A Poem by Raef
For those who hear the bumps in the night,
The cries and wind in the willows, This is written to them. Outside, The light is hidden in what caves there are, The sounds of struggle nearby, If at all, a struggle is more than the bodies pressed against the ground. If anything, the two locked in embrace there are more than people, more than lovers. Bumps and moans in the night are familiar sounds; The life of the night is testament to hidden natures. Cries and echoes alike are nothing if not the same In tone and happenstance. Do the two there know why they came tonight; To struggle upon the ground, searching, feeling, Reaching through the dim light in pursuit of something. Breaking the now silent night in throes of something is nothing; Come morning, the world will erupt with sound and light, With all traces of the night lost. © 2015 Raef |
