Avenger

Avenger

A Poem by Zane
"

A dream i had the other night.

"

I feel my heart beat faster

As I watch yours fail.

I'm screaming for help,

Wishing I could stop my frantic breathing

From stealing your air.

I grab your fragile form,

Nearly gagging as it breaks

Beneath my large hands.

My resolve, my forced calm,

It all crumbles as I hear

A gentle, "I love you"

As the life leaves your eyes.

My hope is gone,

I finally realize.

And i feel conscience leave me

As madness reigns.

I welcome this sleep

And let my grief known,

Knowing I shall return

to avenge your sad demise.

I shall live my life

To beat this madness.

So, for now, I let it take me

And scream my oath,

As I fall before you.

I just LOVE poems inspired by dreams, because no one in the whole world can EVER compete you with the uniqueness of its detail and originality. This poem was sad, full of anger with nicely chosen words. Keep writing.

Really loved this poem. This gave a stunning piece of imagery! I could see the lines as I read. My favourite line would be "Wishing i could stop my frantic breathing, From stealing your air". This was genius!
