These Wings

Written about insecurities during a time where I was ashamed and incredibly insecure about my appearance.

These wings

are what bind me

to all of these tortures.

These wings

are what

set me free.

These wings

are something that

everyone has.

These wings

are mine and unique

from anyone else’s.

These wings

are my

insecurities.

But these wings

make me so sure

I’ll be okay.

These wings

set me

apart

from everyone else.

These wings

give me

something to compare.

Despite all

that they bring,

I must trust my wings.

Because these wings

will take me

on an epic journey

called life.

And as long as I have my wings, I’ll be okay.
