Oh How I Wish

Oh How I Wish

A Poem by Cats Eye

Oh how I wish
To be that same carefree little child
That I was way back when

Oh how I wish
To be full of all of that energy
Like I was when I was younger

Oh how I wish
For my life to be same the same
Without all of this stress upon my shoulders

Oh how I wish
To have stayed the same
For at least a few more years.

I like it. My father always tells me, "I wish I could still do that." It's a good poem.

We are so ready to leave our youth behind until we grow older and marvel at it's simplicity. Nice reflection of that feeling.

I like this. How I often wish I could go back and not have the stress that I have now! This is very good. You captured what I am sure most people feel!

I've read this three times and 'felt' something more and more at each read. These feelings/sentiments are so often experienced by people, and, you've put them into words, only a few words that say more than a tome. 'Like the way you've formatted the poem... 'Oh how I wish...' that repeated line adds to the strength of your emotions

I totally agree. Those where nice years when we could play and explore and there where long periods of a day with nothing to worry about. I try to make those moments now but there harder to come by.

I, myself, and also a lot of people, can relate to this poem, I think. We all want to go back to being a child at one point. There was that sense of... being carefree, I guess. It's hard to be older and still have that quality. This poem was well-written. I liked it.

This is a very uniqe poem. it's nice, i have to say that it's really nice how you repet "oh how i wish" it really says that they wish to be as they were without any troubles in the world, to be a kid again. good work.
