The World Around Us

The World Around Us

A Poem by Cats Eye
"

Something I wrote up out of boredom.

"

I sit and ponder
As my mind wonders
Over the hills and yonder

My eyes scan the horizon
Watching the sun set
In all of its beauty

A lone hawk
Gives a screech
As he flies into a near by tree

He returns to his home
As I sit in the screened in porch
Watching as the deer come out

Watching as the lone owl
Makes his nightly prowl
Looking for his next victim to enter his bowel

A light chilly breeze
Enters through the screen
Ruffling my hair

The sky finally is black
Its endless sky’s filled with stars

The world a round me is filled with a silvery glow.
