Confusion

Confusion

A Poem by Cats Eye

You say things
Yet do you really mean them
I sit and ponder when the next
Promise will be broken

Since when is a half hour
More then just that a half hour
It makes me want to scream at how you think
I can forgive you for all the hurt you’ve caused me this day

Why is it that my heart begs me to forgive him?
Yet aches so much
I want to forgive him
Because I love him

I’m a sad puppy
Who sits at the door
Awaiting for their master
To arrive home and enter through the door.

Ah, relationships can be confusing, a truly heartfelt poem, this... the compact structure that frames the content reveals that perhaps although the persona may seem orderly, in truth, that is riddled by the content's confusion of thoughts and broken promises, which leaves the persona feeling puzzled and at a loss. Beautifully written. I hope the truth makes itself known to you and frees you from this confusion.
