A Poem by Cats Eye
"

This is dedicated to one of the best friends I could ever ask for.

"

We’ve been friends for so long
We’re practically sisters
When you hurt
I hurt

When something has gone amuck
I will be there for you to cry on my shoulder
As I know you’ll be there for me
So I can cry on your shoulder

You’re a rare diamond
In a field of beauty
You’re the one that I pick
Amongst all the rest

Your beauty
Is that of a rose
Your love for you friends and family
Is unyielding

Our friendship is far greater
Then anyone can see
For those who don’t get to know you
It’s their loss

With out you I am nothing
But dust in the wind
You are the one
Who keeps me here on solid ground

You are the greatest friend
A girl like me
Or any person
Could ever ask for

You really wrote this so well for your friend. I really like the form and how some verses are shaped like diamonds. lol. This is so tender...
" You're a rare diamond
In a field of beauty
You're the one that I pick
Amongst all the rest"
...Your whole poem portrays your priceless gem of your friend so well.
Good luck in the "Forever Friend" contest!
