Remember

Remember

A Poem by Zan

when snow is falling, paper thin
stirred by merciless gusts of wind
and melts like tears on asphalt black
you always seem to come creeping back

remember, remember
our frozen december nights
beneath the lights

i feel your shadow, but you're not there
your voice drifts through the haunted air
drags me down
circles round
I'm dancing with your ghost

remember, remember
our frozen december nights
beneath the lights

remember, remember
how we used to dance beneath the stars
comparing our old scars

now the candles have burnt out
you've left me in the dark
but even though the air is cold
your name still lights a spark

remember, remember
our frozen december nights
beneath the lights

I'm dancing with your ghost

This started out bringing memories of my 8 plus years in Alaska. You imagery was very well done. But then a personal turn seemed to appear in this piece as you have lost your love that you held close in the cold. i am sorry. Well Done. Thanks for sharing
