My Last Soliloquy

My Last Soliloquy

A Poem by Zan

They said out, get out of our town
you've broken the glass, burned out the lights
They said, the stars burn black for you
you brought it here, you brought the fear
This storm is gonna take me down
He's so strong, when he took my hand,
lightning flashed in his eyes, and we took a stand
I could see their surprise
as we turned our backs
my last soliloquy;
you'll never know me
there's a face behind this mask and
a heart behind these eyes, oh
you'll never show me
I won't hang myself up
over your lies.

He said run away from this place
we'll leave them behind, fallen from grace
He said look, look me in the eye
like you are the world, like we'll never die
This storm ain't gonna take us down
He's so strong, when he took my hand
lightning flashed in his eyes and we took a stand
I could see their surprise
as we turned our backs
my last soliloquy:
You'll never know me
there's a face behind this mask and
a heart behind these eyes, oh
You'll never show me
I won't hang myself up
over your lies

Oh you'll never know me
there's a face behind this mask and
a heart behind these eyes
You'll never show me
I won't hang myself up
over your lies

He's so strong, when he took my hand
lightning flashed in his eyes and we took a stand
This storm won't ever take us down
