Four Thirds

Four Thirds

A Poem by Zan

You know I never feel
never feel beautiful
except when I'm with you
watch me float away - I'm a helium balloon
All the things I want to tell you but get stuck in my throat
and I try...
but I'm blind
to what you see
behind these jaded eyes
I sigh
And I need an extra quarter
'cause I'm not quite whole
on my own
And you never feel
never feel handsome
I know
we may both be insecure
but together we are more
So let's dream away the foggy days
and we'll melt away the rain
our sidewalk chalk will wash away
it won't be the same
But I'll be your witness
and you'll be mine
we'll together remember
how the stars used to shine
So take my hand
just take my hand
and hold me close my dear
you and I, hopelessly in love
