Run with me wild

Run with me wild

A Poem by Zan

Knocking on my window
I thought it was rain
he was barely a shadow
the dark new moon
In blew the breeze
like striking a match
his low voice made me freeze
when he held out his hand
He said, run with me wild
baby, fly with me free
we've got just one life
one night
do you trust me?
So I took his hand
and we started to run
my own Peter Pan
we ran from the sun
Racing 'cross rooftops
and sailing the seas
street-rats of London
on a high-wire trapeze
He said, run with me wild
baby, fly with me free
we've got just one life
one night
do you trust me?
Up stairways of smoke
we played mascaraed
dancing through doorways
the Wild Hunt's parade
He was my Robin Hood
with a sword and a mask
everything I wanted
but could never ask
He said, run with me wild
baby, fly with me free
we've got just one life
one night
do you trust me?
