Midnight PoisonA Poem by ZanRediscovered a poem from grade nine english... playing with sonnets
Your eyes sparkle like stars in midnight skies.
The moon itself is trapped beneath your skin. A brilliant aura glows and blinds my eyes. Your beauty is mysterious, never dim. Your voice, it beckons like a gentle breeze daring in the darkness that's your cover. Like a fawn before a hunter, I freeze; you hold my heart yet beckon to your lover. You're all that's sweet and savory in the night time but 'hind your blinding beauty lurk foul lies. Like thieves, cut-throats and robbers in the grime the night, once sweet, I've now learned to despise. Though from afar a free midnight you seem, murderers darkness hides, and in your soul they teem.
