Fantasy Chapter 19: PainA Chapter by Linis Arizen Pain The sky was a dark blue, it glowed with a small tint of gold and orange as the sun was setting. I looked back over my shoulder towards the settlement we left a while ago. I frowned as I remembered Craven. I shut my eyes as images of him played through my head. I looked over to Seria as she walked ahead of me. She hasn’t spoken much, none of us have since our battle with Allen. Lucia is the furthest ahead of us, she has the same burning desire I have, revenge. Before we left she hacked up a lot of trees to let her anger and frustration go, she said it was practice for when she gets her hands on Allen. I looked down as I felt sadness loom over me once again. All of this is my fault. Cat, Jack, Craven, and my unborn child, all my fault. I quickly looked up as I heard footsteps approach me, Seria tilted her head and frowned, “Leon…” I slightly looked away, “I’m fine…we should catch up with Lucia…” I walked past her and started down the small hillside. I looked towards Lucia, I saw the woods where Lloyd’s Estate is suppose to be. I felt a small wave of nervousness wash over me. What if we can’t beat him? What if he’s just too strong? He wiped the ground with us back at the settlement. I clenched my fists, no this time we will win, we’ll make him pay for what he’s done. I will make sure he dies this time. I looked over to Seria, she was walking with her head down to the ground, I looked down and frowned. I stopped moving and turned towards her. She stopped just before she ran into me, “Eh….Leon?” I hugged her tightly and shut my eyes, it took her a few seconds to realize what was going on because it took her awhile to finally wrap her arms around me. “This time, we’ll get him…we’ll make him pay…” She nodded, “Yes we will…” I gently rubbed her back and then patted it, “Ok, lets go really catch up with Lucia and figure out how we’re going to do this.” She nodded and smiled abit. I turned and began back down the hillside, Seria followed closely behind me. After a while we finally caught up to Lucia, she was sitting at the entrance to the woods. Near her was a small path that lead inward. I looked at her, “So…we’re almost there…” I nodded and looked into the woods, “Well whatever he has set up, we’ll get past it. Didn’t Mithas say that his Estate was inside a small mountain?” She nodded, “ Yes it’s built on the side of the Ferios Mountains. Those are old mountains and the Estate isn’t how can I put, new either. So when we’re inside be careful. The structure is very weak, and the place can cave in and we all could die, hell maybe we should just do that to kill Alex…” I looked down, “Well…I’d rather shove my swords through his chest to make sure…” She nodded, “Yea…me too” Seria nodded aswell. I looked back into the woods as Lucia stood up and began walking down the path. I followed after her as I heard Seria followed me. The woods were dark and I felt a dark melancholy about the place. I looked around and noticed the large amount of dead trees and yet the lively trees. This was twisted forest mixed with the smell of death and a fragrance of the living. It gave me the chills, made me feel like we were walking through purgatory. I looked around cautiously, watching for anything that was out of this place’s ordinary. The further we got into the woods the darker it got and the colder aswell. The smell of the dead things got stronger as well. I took out my swords as Lucia drew her sword out as we came to a clearing. It reminded me of the clearing where Craven and me ran into that Lucian tribe. We walked into the clearing slowly, we spanned off in a triangle formation, me at point, Lucia at my left and Seria at my right. We came to the middle of the clearing, I looked up as I saw the tip of a tower and behind that the edge of the mountain side, Seria pointed to the tower, “Look, there it is…we’re there…Lloyd’s Estate..” I stopped moving as I heard movement. I looked around, scanning the area careful I turned around as I saw something in the corner of my eye. Lucia and Seria turned and face my direction. “Did either of you see that?” I asked as I stepped back, getting in a defensive stance. Lucia stood in a defensive stance aswell, “Yea I saw it….” Seria nodded as she stepped back. I looked around carefully. “We don’t have time to deal with anything….cautiously move back towards the Estate….” I said as I slowly stepped back, Lucia and Seria nodded and stepped back with me. As we got closer to the path to the Estate, four beasts stepped out of the forest on the other side of the clearing. These beasts had dark glowing purple eyes and they’re fur, or skin was as black as darkness itself. We slowly stepped back , the beasts moved forward. “Shadow Fiends….Lloyd was known to be The Advocate of Darkness. So he was an expert in literally, the Dark Arts. I’ve messed with these things before…their easy to deal with if you know what your doing, you two go on to the Estate…I’ll catch up soon…” I went to grab her but she pushed me back towards the path. She then pointed her sword towards me and, the four beasts charged at her, Seria grabbed me and pulled me up and we began to run toward the Estate, I looked back over my shoulder as I watched Lucia begin cutting down the beast, then she disappeared over the hillside. Seria forced me to face the Estate main door. I looked up and down. The Estate was like built into an indention on the side of the mountain. We went inside and shut the door behind us. I looked around, it looked like a normal Estate on the inside. Seria and me walked deeper into the Estate. We looked around as furniture was covered in dust and dirt. Some of the bookshelves were broken from old age and the books. “Where would he be in here?” asked Seria as she looked around. I shake my head, “No idea…I’d say in the basement, closer to the inside of the mountains…?” I looked at her and gave her a bewildered look. She shrugged her shoulders, “So lets find the way down?” I nodded, “Yea” We walked into a room that had the staircase to the second floor. We looked around and couldn’t find the door downstairs. I pressed against the brinks and the stones. Seria looked at me with confusion, she then looked at the bookshelf next to her. I looked over to her as she stared at one of the books. I walked over to her and looked at the book. It was sitting straight up as all the other books were on the ground. “Ahh well that’s what we’re looking for.” I exclaimed as I as pulled back on the book. There was a small clicking noise and then a rumble as the sound of old mechanics trigger through the walls then the floor, as part of the floor opened to reveal stairs going down. I looked at Seria and smiled. She nodded and we walked down the stairs. As we walked down the stairs, the hall was lit, giving us the sign that someone was down here. We slowly went down through the corridors, I looked over my shoulder, listening for Lucia, but I heard nothing. I kept moving forward. As we walked down the stairs we finally came to a large room. There were the remains of tables and broken glass. I looked around and in the far corner of the room were barrels, there was a black line the lead to more barrels by one of the pillars. I tilted my head as I heard movement from the middle of the room.
