Fantasy: Chapter 16: Despair

 Despair:

 

 

 

                After awhile, Seria finally calmed down. I looked at her with a renewed look and I hugged her. She smiled and we began walking down towards the cave. On the way down Seria walked beside me and looked at me, “So…tell me about your life in Nevatrail…”

I looked down abit then looked at her, “Well, I live in a house with my childhood friend, Jack. And I’m about to be a father…”

As I said that she looked down abit, then she looked at me, “Whoever the girl is, she’s very lucky…”

I smiled, “I’m the lucky one…her name is Catherine. We’ve been together for awhile now. I remember how I met her haha, I was six and she was seven. It was at my friend, Dave’s birthday party. Cat and her family had just moved into town and Dave’s parents invited them over for the party. It was there that we all got our butts handed to us by her in a game of squirt tag. Haha. Ever since we just grew up and hung out. Then when I was sixteen, we decided to go out, been together since.”

Seria smiled, “You seem really happy with her, I can tell you love her a lot.”

I smiled, “Yes I’m very happy and I do love her a lot. She’s saved me countless times. Metaphorically and for real hah.”

She smiled and bumped me abit, “Aww Breic boy is in Looove hehe” she said giggling.

I laughed and gently bumped her back, “Hush now hehehe”

Shortly after we reached the cave entrance where Craven and Lucia stood there waiting.

Craven stood there and crossed his arms, “Is everything ok you two?”

I nodded, “Yes hehe”

He nodded and smiled, “Well then, after you lad…”

I raised my eyebrow and walked into the cave, I stopped and turned around, “Ya know, you all don’t have to come…I don’t want to burden you all more than I have already…”

Craven walked forward and gently punched my arm, “Listen Lad, one you haven’t been that much of any trouble. Two we’re friends, and friends look out for each other.”

I smiled, “Well then, shall we?”

They all nodded and we all began to walk into the cave.

 

 

                The cave was damp, dark but yet cool. There was amazing stones that glowed a dull silver, Craven collected some dust stuff from a stone and put it in his little pouch.  After walking for what seemed hours we finally came to this stone and wood door. I was rusted at the hinges, Craven and I pushed against it and it easily opened. I walked into the room first. My eyes widen as I looked around, there were hundreds of books, all destroyed due to age but there were still a lot. And in the back of the room was a white glow. I walked up to it and there it was, the white orb Lloyd spoke about, it was sitting on a stone coffin, there were holes that lead inside. Oddly it didn’t smell like rotted flesh, I touched the coffin and quickly brought my hand back as it almost froze. The orb after looking at it closely had mist falling from it. I see now.

“Looks like a Freeze Orb…”

I turned and looked at Craven as he crossed his arms.

“So like…with this Freeze orb you can…preserve a person?”

He tilted his head, “Well, its not impossible but obliviously it does work. I mean Lloyd’s in that thing, right?”

I looked at that Coffin, I couldn’t open it with the orb there, but I could touch it. Ah ha!

“Seria, shoot the orb!” I stepped back quickly and looked at her, “Shoot it and destroy it.”

She nodded and brought down her bow and drew an arrow, she pulled it back and take aim, she studied the shot, then fired. The arrow zipped past us and hit the orb, shattering it. After it shattered I was able to pull the base out of the coffin, when I pulled it out, the three legs on their ends had frozen blood on them. My eyes widen and I open the coffin. Lloyd was laying there, not moving, but yet still breathing. Oddly enough he did freeze. I picked him up and laid him on the ground.

“Lloyd! D****t you b*****d I got you out of there now get up!” I slapped him.

There was no reaction, “Well that usually works in the movies…”

Craven tilted his head, “Mo..vies?”

“Uh I’ll explain later…ehh Lloyyyd…” I then noticed that his hand was twitching. I sat back as his body shook, he then quickly sat up coughing, blood ran out of his mouth.

He looked around, “Ahh Leon you finally came…took you long enough didn’t you…”

“Oh shut up…be happy I came at all…now tell me why I had to come here and free you…because these three don’t think your worth saving…”

He looked at Craven, Seria and Lucia. He rubbed the back of his head, “I don’t blame them…but hear me out…I told you…eh..that I’d tell you everything so I will…”

I nodded, “Good…”

He slowly stood up and looked around, “Well after me and Alex left the Great Field. We came here, we fought outside and inside the cave. He was insanely powerful. I was out matched but I couldn’t lose. I was close to discovering how to see your world. Nevatrail is a whole other plane of existence. And after Alex cam here, he helped me understand how he got here. See, there is a small loophole in everything. And in this case, our planes are so close that on certain instants a person’s mind from your world is kinda…linked to ours…at least that’s what I thought. Turns out that the only way that would work is if there were the same person in each world. So that could be…I dunno. As you can see I haven’t figured it out yet. But I was going to perform an experiment that would allow me to see your world. Alex though wanted to stop me and prevent any means of anyone going back to his world. He was…unstable. He was convinced that he was from this world and that your world, was a dream…”

I looked down, this all kind of makes sense now.

“But what about Alex? Where is he?”

Lloyd grabbed his chest, “He’s back in your world, but don’t worry, he has no memory of his time here, I wiped it clean with a spell. Ahh…at least I’m sure it worked…but if it didn’t then oh well….agh!..” Lloyd grabbed his chest and coughed up more blood, I grabbed him, “S**t…Craven we need to do something….”

Lloyd pushed me back, “No…its too late….ahh…ehh…I’m already dead…I knew this…I just wanted out of that Limbo…so I mentally reached to someone near Alex…”

My eyes widen, “Some one…near Alex…?”

He nodded, “Yes…ehh…oh no…”

“What??”

“I remember…now…even if Alex doesn’t remember now…he will soon..”

“What do you mean!?”

“If I..die..then the spell…wears off….I..I’m sorry…Le..on…” Lloyd’s head hangs down.

“Lloyd! D****t! Why didn’t you tell me this before!” I quickly stood up and looked around. I need to wake up, Now!

I looked around, “Craven! Knock me out!”

Craven’s eyes widen, “But wh..”

“Just do it!”

He looked down, “Alright then….eahh…”

I stood there as my vision began to blur, “Did…you…hit..me..tha..t…fas..t..?”

Everythign went dark.

 

 

 

                My eyes shot open. I looked around, Jack was sleeping on the floor against the wall, and Cat was sleeping in the chair. I looked over to my bed, Allen was gone. My eyes widen, I ran into the game room, he wasn’t in there, I ran downstairs, nowhere downstairs either. I ran back upstairs and went into my room, I slowly stepped forward as I saw Allen sitting on my bed. I stood there and stared at him as he held the pistol from under my bed, I watched him put the clip in, he cocked it.

“Allen…”

He stood and looked at me, he rubbed his head, “Ahh shut up!”

“Eh…” I stepped back, I bumped the chair, waking Cat, I put my left hand in front of her, blocking her vision. She looked up at me, “Leon? Whats going on?”

“Cat…just be quiet and don’t move…Allen…drop the gun…”

I felt cat stand up behind me, she gripped my shirt.

I stared at Allen, “Allen please…”

He pointed the gun at me, “I said Shut it! My name is Alex! I remember it all now…this world..it…doesn’t exist…you…her…him…NO ONE!”

As he yelled Jack shook and slowly opened his eyes, he looked at Allen, “Eh…um…whoa…”

I looked at Jack, “Don’t move…”

I looked back at to Allen. He stare straight at me, “This is all a dream! No of it was REAL! Well…you are another one just like me. Can’t you see Leon! They’re not real!”

“Yes they are! Its you who can’t see! Elmemna is the dream! We’re real!!”

Jack slowly stood up, Allen aimed at him.

 He smirked and then aimed back to me, “Your blind…your letting your dreams et to you. There is nothing here. Only lies and deception. Fabrications…noting here is REAL!”

I stepped forward abit, “It is real D****t! You’re the Blind one!”

As I stepped forward I noticed that Jack had his knife in his hand, he was three feet from Allen, I looked at him and shook my head, he looked down. I looked at Allen, his head was tilted. My eyes widen.

He raised his eyebrow, “If this is reality, then stop me…”as he said that he quickly turned towards Jack and fired the gun three times, my eyes widen, “Nooo!” I went to step forward as he turned towards me, I felt Cat push me, Allen pulled the trigger and fired twice. I fell to the ground and hit my head off the wall. I laid there for a few moments. I then quickly got up and went to Cat’s side, “Cat! Ahh Noo….” I held her close, he shot her in her stomach and her heart, she shook, blood flowed from her mouth.

“Ohh it looks like you could stop me…”

I looked at Allen with angry, then my eyes widen again as I saw him pointing the gun to his head, “I’ll see you in The Real World Leon…hehehehahahah” He pulled the trigger, his blood splattered all across my bed and walls, his lifeless body fell to the floor. I sat there I looked at Jack, three shots two to his chest and on to his throat, my eyes watered up. I quickly looked at Cat. She was shaking.

“Le…leon…I..I’m sor...sorry…”

I grabbed her hand, my tears flowing from my eyes, “Shh my love…you’ll be ok…you’ll be fine…”

She started to shake more, her breathing was rapid, she was gasping for air, “…I..I..I was so happy…I wanted to have a a fam…family with you..I..I love you…” as she spoke her body grew cold, her blood dripped from her wounds to the floor. I squeezed her hand, “Its ok….shh stop talking…I love you too…don’t go..No..”

“I…I..I’m sor….ry…” he body slowly stopped shaking, her beautiful emerald green eyes turned to a dull lifeless green.

My body began to shake. My tears flowed uncontrollably. I held her body close to me, “Noooo! Cat! No…”

I buried my face into her cold lifeless neck, my tears flowed into her blood. I sat there weeping, crying. I then heard sirens. I looked up, my loves blood on the side of my face and on my chest. I gently lay he down and emotionlessly walked over to Allen’s corpse. I knelt down and grabbed the gun from his limp hand. I walked back over to Cat and laid next to her, I grabbed her cold hand and stared at the dull white lifeless ceiling. I pointed the gun to my temple. I stared at the ceiling and pulled the trigger, I heard a loud nag, then felt a pinch and then immense pain, but in all the second it took to feel that, then there was nothing.
