Why Do I Do This

Why Do I Do This

A Poem by Zall
"

We all ask it, and most of the time there isn't an answer.

Why Do I Do This

Why do I do this,
Every time I ask myself this question,
It’s always there,
But I’ll do it again and again,
People are reaching out,
But I’m pulling back,
I don’t need their help,
I don’t want their help,
I won’t accept their help,
Just stay away, away from me,
I’ll be fine,
I’ll be fine,
For the very last time,
They say they’ll help me,
They can help me,
I’m not taking it,
I’m pulling back,
Away, away, away from humanity,
The beat of the drums is steady and fast,
Boom, boom, clash, boom,
Boom, boom, clash, boom,
Oh, oh, I can’t do it,
Oh, oh, I won’t do it,
Oh, oh, I said I’d stop,
Oh, oh, I’m oh so oh so sorry,
If I was sorry,
Why do I do this?
