A Poem by Zall
"

Somebody dies when they left their door unlocked while home alone.

"

Unlocked
What’s that you say,
You say you’re home alone,
But I know you’re really not,
For I am just around the corner,
Come on,
Come to me,
I’m just around the corner,
Step out of the room,
And into the dark,
The lights don’t work,
And you wonder why,
But I know why,
For I’m the one who cut the cord,
I’m lurking in the shadows,
And yet you do not see,
You start to worry,
Wondering what’s happening,
You walk up the stairs,
And I silently follow,
You stop at the top,
And all you can do is stare,
The door is wide open,
A breeze coming in,
I lean in closely,
And I’ll whisper in your ear.

Nicely done. I do enjoy imagining what may happen in such a situation, though I bet you could fill in the blanks and make me afraid of the dark now couldn't you? I can't help but to notice that in every one of your poems you are not done writing, but you have stopped. You have more emotion to fill the page, more words to create the scene, more darkness to feed the fear. But, alas, you stop and leave me thinking about what you could have written. I can see the talent you have, all those ideas buzzing around in your head, and I say you should show your thoughts in the form of words. Channel the inner poet into what I predict would be your best writing yet.
