Belong Together Like...

Belong Together Like...

A Poem by Zall
"

Sometimes you just know when you got it right.

"

Belong Together Like…
We belong together,
Just like salt and pepper,
Sitting on the kitchen table,
Wherever you go,
I go,
When I go,
You come along.

We belong together,
Just like peanut butter and jelly,
In-between two slices of bread,
When you stick to me,
I stick to you,
When I go,
You come along.

We belong together,
Just like bees and honey,
Resting in our little hive,
When you come near me,
I’m super sweet,
When I go,
You come along.

We belong together,
No matter what anybody says,
When you say you love me,
I remember that night,
When I go,
You come along.

Author's Note

Zall
When it says "When I go, You come along" the person in the poem is trying to leave but the other knows that they belong together no matter what happens so they follow. Sorry if it's bad.

It's not bad-it's lovely. It's simple and in it's simplicity it's touching for the soul. Sometimes verbal extravagance just drags the meaning of a poem down with the heaviness of all that metaphor and description: Your's hit the spot-it was balanced but still had feeling and theme. Pretty darn good.
