Nightly Forest Path

Nightly Forest Path

A Poem by Zall
"

People portray a forest at night as a scary place, but all the noises you hear, you hear in the daylight as well.

"

Nightly Forest Path
In the forest of night,
You walk the path,
All alone,
Just listening,
A rustle of leaves,
Only an owl,
A splash of water,
Only a fish,
Crunching of gravel,
As you walk on the path,
A snap of twigs,
You spin around,
It’s only a dear,
In the forest of night,
You walk the path,
All alone,
Nothings there,
Nothing to fear,
As you walk the nightly path,
The nightly path of the forest,
All alone,
Just listening.

this has great flow
and it has a very solid yet unique perspective.

the one line i have an issue with is line 13. i think because of the usage of "only" in the lines before, bringing the reader back to that word creates an expectation of the same pattern. when the pattern dose not appear again it trips up the reader. or at least it tripped me up. perhaps you could use the word just? but aside from that it's good. that i could pick out something so trivial itself, is evidence of the quality of your poem. and it's certainly not bad. i love it.
