Farewell

Farewell

A Poem by Zalinthel

We say goodbye, one last time,

Let go of our final embrace.

You can’t look into my eyes,

Because it just hurts too much,

And we turn away,

With so much to say

That will never be spoken.

And I tell you to wait,

And want to tell you all my thoughts,

But I can’t look you in the eyes,

And I sigh and turn away.

So let’s get a case out,

And pack up our pride.

This was already over,

Long before now.

And I think of everything,

That could have been for us,

And shrug and say,

“Well at least we tried.”

And there’s no relief, in holding bitterness,

And so we might as well

Let it die.

I write to express myself, to put my thoughts into physical form. It lets me maintain greater clarity of thought to let the machinations of my mind escape their containment and live freely outside of .. more..
