Self Lies

Self Lies

A Poem by Zalinthel
"

Use your mind to make the words become a painting in your thoughts, and interpret them there.

"

The fool of my mind, that which speaks but does not think, lays present in reality

He stands as a wall, a mask of subterfuges, whom hides my truth from the world

My passions and desires lie chained to the shackles of misconception, imprisoned in their own fear

I stand surrounded by faces but yet remain alone, existing in a void where reality plays like a screen

I loathe him, the inner deceiver who denies me my birthright

He who dares to hold me captive, he who holds me in eternal stasis

My light burns as bright as a thousand suns but is snuffed out by barriers by which it cannot see

And yet as I stand here alone in myself, yearning to alight the world around me with my thoughts

I find peace in the solitude.
