Forest Man

Forest Man

A Poem by aaaa
"

A man that lives in the forest.

"

A man walks through the forest so green

Seeing sights few men have ever seen

Walking over paths, so old

walking over paths untold

He grows old, his beard grows gray

He continues to walk anyway

He walks from the edge of the world, and back

Few men can ever say that

He has seen mountains that tear the sky

He has walked where the birds fly high

He has climbed the cave with beasts of evil

No one knows when he will

Stop walking over his forest path

He walks to escape the city's wrath

The city who kill the land with its spires

It kills the world, it paves the mires

He will some day die, this we know

With a grave unmarked, that will never show

City's will come and build the land

Industry will come and stretch its hand

No one will remember this man so great

He who walk paths and twisted fate

He was the only one who lived without a prison

He alone knew true wisdom

Say goodbye to this man of the wild

Say goodbye to the man who filled

The shoes of walkers that came before

Say goodbye to the man who did so much more

Memory shall fade into the night

His story will leave without a fight

No one will remember this wanderer

His true nature we can only ponder

An old sage who walks the land, ever watchful, but no one watches him. This piece is interesting besides I love to go walking through the woods. Its so peaceful and fun

This seems to be an introduction to a story. I would like to hear more about this man, we should remember him. I, too, long to walk away from the cities forever. I like your poem. Thank you for sharing.

Interesting topic. The end of the second stanza seemed a little off rhythm compared to the rest of it, and I didn't see it as an important kind of interruption to the pace, like the next one in stanza three. Other than that I had no beef with this piece. I, being a lover of furry woodland creatures and all, respect this man greatly.

loved it. Great imagery, and like other people below me have said, being a wanderer of nature would be a cool life :)

I agree with gunmetal. There has always been a fascination to just wander the world, free of all commitments. It would be an interesting life I suppose.

What a nice story. There's always been a little part of me who wants to just up and leave, become a wanderer. Always without destination, but never without a journey.

Wow, lots of reviews, i guess i can;t really say anything that hasn't been said before. I enjoyed this peice, especialy the fourth and fifth stanzas. I really liked those parts because, call me a hippie or a tree hugger, but i am really upset by us expanding so much, and destroying the wild around us. Soon, it will be all grey. Any way, good write. :)

This has really good imagery. It makes you think what it would be like to be like that. A wanderer so in tune with nature.
