Endless Walk to Sirius

Endless Walk to Sirius

A Poem by Mindless Mindset
"

When we carry ourselves to the sun, we'll find the place where time stops.

"

We’re walking on the suburb streets

Carrying ourselves into the absence of time

And we drift

The midday sun is so bright!

My hair dances in the afternoon breeze

And my feet can feel the warmth of the concrete

You and I are together

Stepping rhythmically beside one another

Following the pattern that doesn’t go anywhere

The sounds of the road pass us by like the cars

Water sprays like droplets of glass from nearby fountains

And children play on the curbs of driveways

We can hear the sound of a girl’s guitar

It pours and seeps into the air

And flows in the sky throughout this area

Where are we going anyway?

We’ve just been walking since the beginning

Is this even really real?

We’re walking on the suburb streets

Carrying ourselves into the absence of time

And so we drift

The sun seems so far away

Yet, I think that’s where this day is taking us

We’re walking into the sun

But when it sets, will we go home?

Will we have to turn back with the disappearing light?

I’m not really sure

But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

The day is so young

Let’s walk until our time runs out

I like this a lot. You painted a vivid picture in my head. It was almost as if I was there. Great job.
