On The Night of The Landing

On The Night of The Landing

A Poem by Zahin

Freezing grounds,

That’s where you’re standing,

In the light of the moon,

On the night of the landing.

You’ll be gone,

Come light of the morning,

I’ll scream for you here,

And your stars will be dancing.

You’re prancing, outstanding

And we were everlasting

When did we become

Such a misunderstanding?

I didn’t want to try

To be understanding

But I didn’t want you to think

That I was so demanding

And I know you won’t

But if you’re re-landing,

My corpse will be here,

Right where you’re standing

I’d like for you

To be understanding

Outlasting, demanding

No misunderstandings

If you want you can stay,

It’s a wish He’ll be granting,

And I’ll stand right here,

Panting and ranting

On and on,

Forever just chanting,

As long as this universe

Will keep on expanding

If you wanted me,

You’d say I’m enchanting

And you’d also try and

Be understanding

But where are you,

And where am I standing,

In the light of the moon,

On the night of the landing?
