I love keyboards. Especially my new one, which my sister gave me. Not only did she gift me the keyboard, but she also taught me a valuable lesson. Let me explain.

I had started saving money for a new keyboard for a long time. After my old one broke, I was keen on getting an even better keyboard that I could customize to my liking. However, it wasn't exactly cheap. I had saved up about half of the money required when I came face to face with a tough decision. You see, my sister had got her first-ever job. I could save the money for the keyboard, or I could give her a treat. I am a generous person, but I fought a tremendous war with myself. After all, I had planned on getting a keyboard for months, and saving up the money took a lot of effort and discipline. On the other hand, she is my one and only sibling, and as the younger sibling I felt compelled to please her. I sat in my room, fiddling with my wallet, thinking hard. I should give her a treat now. After all, the keyboard is not as urgent as celebrating her first career. Even still, I was hesitant to part with my savings. With a heavy sigh and a knot in my stomach, I decided to give her a treat.

I entered her room and spat it out before I could change my mind. The huge smile that erupted on her face wiped any hesitation from my mind completely. “Really? Thank you Bro ! “ she said, unable to contain her happiness. “No problem,” I said, grinning. That night, we had a wonderful time chatting over the delicious fries and chicken we ordered. The initial sadness of parting with my money ebbed away completely and happiness and contempt came in its place.

About a week later, I had just come home from school and was resting on my bed when my sister came into the room with a wrapped box in her hand. “It’s for you,” she said as she handed me the box. I ripped off the packaging and out fell a brand new keyboard, just the one I wanted, onto my lap. My eyes popped out of my head and I jumped forward with glee, scrambling to hug her. I couldn't believe she got me the keyboard. But like I said, she didn't just give me the keyboard, she had taught me that generosity always pays back. She had taught me to be compassionate of others, with surety that it would pay back. As a wise man once said, “Whatever goes around, comes around.”
