Down By The River

Down By The River

A Poem by PIG-RHCP
"

Describing along the river Loire in France and how beautiful it was.

"
When I turned that corner my jaw fell
I was in heaven, I had returned from hell
If you could have been there too you would have seen
That this land must be full of amazing dreams

The flowing water was so calm and clear
When I arrived I I knew I had nothing to fear
I took it all in, I could not get enough
To me, it was like new found love

Down by the river
Is where I put that smile back on my face
A cleansing of the mind
I could not help but stop and gaze

The long grass was as green as could be
The trees were so tall, they were so free
And the sky was very bright
I could have stayed there for the rest of my life

Down by the river
Is where I put that smile back on my face
A cleansing of the mind
I could not help but stop and gaze

I lay there listening to some birds sing
While others flew around with spread wings
Oh, I did not need anything else
I wouldn't have cared if I was by myself

I did what my brother once said
"Enjoy the moment, don't take a picture of it"
As I strolled down the path for the last time
I knew everything would be just fine

Down by the river
Is where I put that smile back on my face
A cleansing of the mind
I could not help but stop and gaze

Down by the river
Is where I put that smile back on my face
A cleansing of the mind
I could not help but stop and gaze
