Shadows

In this i speak my feelings more than ever

Shadows are my only friend

It’s in darkness that I write

And where I can think clearly

It’s in darkness that I hide

 

My headphones block out all noise

And darkness blocks out all sight

Amid this senseless time

I sit and think and write

 

It’s in these moments

That I feel calm and safe

But I also realize

That I am alone with only my shadow

Beautiful!!!! I love how you describe darkness as a friend wrather than a foe!!! So many people fear it and it is wonderful to meet or talk to someone who embraces it!!! Beautiful poem!! I understand completely the way darkness can inspire! I love it!!!
