Shades of Black

Shades of Black

A Poem by Zada Girl

As I watch you out of the corner of my eye...
I wonder what it is your thinking...
Your brain trembling over the bend in the road.

Is it another song, verse, or a chorus line...
Or is it another memory that runs through the figmentation's of time...

Will it be the new breath at the bottom of the ocean....
As you distant yourself from the realm of satisfaction in search for the deeper soul.

What is it that your looking for?
The man in the mirror, the shadows beside you, or the conscientious friend from with in.

The voices are calling with mutter for words...
You feel them descending through your veins while the numbness burns your eyes...
Your hands clench the pen with desires of fears, laughter, death, and passion.

Who is this curious beast they call man?
And how do I become?
