There's No Place Like Her

There's No Place Like Her

A Poem by Zackery Alan Daley
"

YAH TRICK YAH YAH YAH

"
Thwart me
I'm coming along
Singing this song
Without anyone
You and your eyes
They make me shout about the devil
And how his life seems so cool
If it were with you

I love you!
I mean, uh...I loved you.
My girlfriend,
Ex-lover,
The one who killed the toy soldier,
Turning him against his brothers.

Ashley? Sammy? Baby?
Make me a smile,
And hand me a flower,
And together,
We'll begone from this world.

These lines are becoming a bore...
I don't want to read,
Let alone write them anymore.

there is such a pure feel of Helen of Troy inside these lines

My girlfriend,
Ex-lover,
The one who killed the toy soldier,
Turning him against his brothers.

marvel is how universal the lure and the betrayal are transcending time~ very personal writing~ yet very relatable from different angles of the spectrum~

It is still a mystery to me how someone can completely overwhelm my world.. can fill every space in my mind.. and your words here linger like music over that dance of life and love.

This poem is a tribute to the male personality when it comes to love. Well written and described. Great job

Hmm, feels like daisychains set adrift on paperboats on a summer's day... beautiful and youthful, but you know the those sun-drenched lazy afternoons won't be around forever. well crafted!
