Malcom the Narcissist vs. Jack and Jill

Malcom the Narcissist vs. Jack and Jill

A Poem by Zackery Alan Daley
"

My twist on an old school nursery rhyme I did in 2008.

"

My alarm went off this morning,
And I ignored it 'till two-thirty

I need to shower, I’m dirty.
Yet there is no speck no dirt on me.

Murder in the first? Second? Fifth?
I felt so bad I ran off a cliff.
Hit the ground and realized it wasn’t real,
In fact it was quite chimerical.

Jack and Jill went up the hill,
And that’s where they first met Malcom...
They saw him sitting on the well,
And pointed and laughed for fun.
Jill thought Malcom was cute,
...but she was at first mute.
Then Malcom smiled,
so her heart went wild.
Then Jack fell down, broke his crown...
But Jill was saved by Malcom

I am just thinking about the reality of this work. I think I can relate to Jack in this one. But still I really enjoyed this poem, and its good dose for me at an almost end of the day. Good job Zackery. Simple yet elegant.

A different twist in this poem. I like how you combine the two stories. A very nice poem this morning. You made me smile. A excellent poem.
