Lets bring in the New Year with a bang

Someone dropped the ball on New Years Eve, but ball is not exactly the correct way to describe the events of this new years. I say ‘dropped the ball’ because of its familiarity and relevance to bringing of the New Year, but really the occurrence was actually series of fiery, catastrophic, flesh melting, city toppling, nuclear strikes. Yeah, many died, but most lived. The upside of the catastrophe was that it took a lot of pressure off of succeeding in a New Year’s resolution. Surviving became the big New Years Resolution and since surviving meant laying on the couch and scrolling the Internet as to avoid any impulses to go outside, people were happy to say they had stuck with their New Years resolution for the very first time. So maybe it wasn’t so bad here on Earth.
