None or Three

None or Three

A Poem by Zachary Dary

He has two.
He offered me three.
Why can't I just have one?
He just wants one but he has two already.
How does that work out?
How is that fair?
So confused.
Why do we all play this game?
This game that never ends.
One love gained means another must lose.
At least for most of us.
The others feel elite.
Want to take us in like strays.
Dirty mongrels that must be taught.
I'm not happy here.
Will I be happy there?
