Lost and Found

Lost and Found

A Poem by Zakari Schmidt
"

X marks the spot

"
From a cloud into the ground
is only distance,
like a thought into a sound
is just a measurement
The scales must be off
The weight of the world
doesn't feel like a lot
when you're standing on top

Asking me to look up
I am an alien

X marks the spot in the sky
constellations will die
We will become,
everything that I want
Lost and found up above
It will be out of your reach
like it has been to me
You could stand on my back
or get down on your knees
held in a sleight of hand,
thrown out into the sea
that separates us

I love the rhythm here. The poem is so lovely/easy to read with its steady flow. I love the meaning behind all the words, the metaphors, the everything! Well done.

Simply amazing good sir. As Mitch H. says, "2 can't fit into 1. That's what 2 was created!" (In reference to 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner.) Only 'you' can make 'you' happy. A ring doesn't fix anything. If life is a journey meant to be shared, it is meant to be shared together. Not as one. You need the yin and the yang to keep balance. There is no one or thing who can make you complete. You have to do that. I love your message here.

Very cool! Not sure if I am understanding it perfectly or at all but, especially the first stanza, makes me think about how suffering is relative to each person. IT is all about how you choose to view things.

Whew glad I got it. Of course.
A very interesting read with a delightful rhythm.

I was a little misled, and disappointed though: I expiated an homage to Kermit the Frog! (LOVE Kermy!) :D LOL
