Hard To BreatheA Poem by ZekeI wrote this about a time when I was having an asthma attack in the middle of a public place and no one stopped to ask if I was okie or to help.Hard to breath Air so thick With chattering teeth The cold stick Has been lodged here. Within my back. The end is near. I hear death’s step. Growing from the trail. If only the sack. Had not fell to the rail. Of the traitorous prep. From which I had fallen. To this cold rough stone. This must be the lesson. To never stray alone. © 2015 Zeke |
