National Tragedy

What is a matter with the world,

why did it end up like this?

Innocent children shot, and left to die.

Kids who did nothing to make this occur,

Twenty seven kids dead. not  saying goodbye.

I can see kids, hurting, hearts left unrepaired.

Feeling the pain, as the children run screaming.

Words left unsaid, words left unheard.

Families  left to mourn. Questioning things.

that i myself couldn't answer.

this day will rewind through all our minds.

My heart goes out to all of you,

who lost loved ones.

These kids were innocent,

they were special.

It's been on the news everywhere.

may these kids be necer forgotten.

It was a Elementay massacre,

that should've never happened.

This was the a sad poem and I feel bad for all the people that were killed. It should have never happened. People are really sick in this world....I feel bad for the parents. I think you did a great job writing this poem. Thanks for sharing. :)

In the same day. In China. Someone killed 22 kids at a school. I don't understand the killing of children or anyone. Poor families must be in terrible pain. Brought tears to a nation. I believe the USA must find a away to give hope and opportunity to the young people. Thank you for your thoughts.

Oh my God...i never heard of the news till today. I am sorry and I wish things had not gone like this. It was unfair and i want to dedicate my poem Dandelion Memory to them.Tragedy is the worst disease and I wish it could never happen. A beautiful tribute to them. Lovely poem.

This is a really sweet poem. My heart goes out to the whole community of Newtown, Connecticut.. That whole incident was just terrible and heartbreaking.. Someone feeling the need to kill their mother, then twenty innocent children, along with six brave teachers.. It's just, a terrible thing to even think about, let alone witness.. Anyways, great job with this!

Yes he needed help but no one gave it to him, which by no means bakes it even remotely ok to do what he did, mentally sick or not. I have no ounce of pity for anyone who murdered children, he was mentally ill, not special needs he knew what he was doing

I understand that (though I would not feed him cuz I don't pay) but killing innocent children and taking your life? That's taking the cowardly way out. Those parents had no idea they would not being seeing there children come home that day, Christmas ruined for those who celebrate it, even for the survivors

True, he was mentally ill. But I've seen, heard, and read a whole lot about all this, and his mental illness was very suddle. It did not take control of his actions. It was just a little part of that, it doesn't have much to do with his actions. All of the people who knew him that we're interviewed said that he always was a little antisocial and weird, but that's all. It was just a suddle form of mental illness.. Just saying.

Okay, stop arguing. Honestly it is ridiculous. Losing the innocent people that were taken from the world is what this is about. The gunmen I agree shouldn't have committed suicide and should face his punishment. I don't care if he has a mental illness. He shouldn't have done what he did. Enough said. It is a national tragedy. Sure, and like I like seeing those two go on and on about how he shouldn't have died. He was HUMAN people. And you're treating him like he's an animal, and that's what's making ME upset. We know he was human. We all have our opinions. HE killed people he would have been jailed for life. He was acting like an animal himself. But we know he was human. Everyone is even after they kill people. It's like the case when Trayvon Martin got killed. He was a human too and he was killed because of his skin color. So pretty much it's the same thing. Agreeing with Angie plus I would not shun his family, I pity them, they didn't make the choice for him to do what he did they are not responsible for his actions. They don't deserve to be known for his wrongdoings
