A Soilder's PerspectiveA Poem by Yuzuki CrossIt’s always the battle that counts for the war When we raise our hands to the sky We’re just asking for more
The enemy and I face down, head to head Not a single second wasted But we are walking dead
As I stand in the silence The scenery may change And I ask for forgiveness
Please don’t forget my name.
I promise you, I’m not screamin’ for the hell of it What would it matter to you if I said That I don’t give a s**t?
I’m fighting for you that is what you need to learn For your freedom, your family, your home Rather then let them burn
Don’t forget my cause, what I had fought for My name maybe nameless But you are worth dying for
Remember me as the one who raised his voice As he charged into the battleground At his own choice
The page is blank as ever As they lay me in the ground Remember me as I was, now and forever
Don’t forget the times I laid my life for you Like I said before I’m gonna fight for you
You better believe it This is my home, my country No way I’m gonna let you take it
I fall with many of my friends Tears, blood and anger But it’s not the end
The war continues on And so will I But it won't be long
Before you forget and turn your head But I'm still walking on this Earth I'm maybe walking dead
But it's hell a worth it for my family Your brothers and sisters And all who come after me
So even as you leave My knees will not give out just yet Just promise you'll remember me © 2012 Yuzuki Cross |
