Anna's Progression

Anna's Progression

A Story by Ahiru2001
"

A short story based on the typical progression of anorexia.

"
Third Grade (4"3, 132lbs):"Fatty!" 'They laugh at me and mock my size. I'll show them. I can be pretty too! I can... I will.'
Fourth Grade (4"6 , 112lbs): 'Ugh, how am I still fat? I only eat 1 dessert a week, and I exercise for an hour and 45 minutes every day! I know, I'll exercise for 2 hours every day and eat smaller lunches and dinners.' Breakfast: Two scrambled eggs, a glass of orange juice and one piece of unbuttered toast. Lunch: an apple and some baby carrots. Dinner: A bran muffin. Half of her clothes are getting too baggy for her.
~Three Months later~ (4"11, 102lbs.) 'Okay, what if I just skip dinner and lunch altogether? Instead I'll just have a glass of water and some vitamins.' She soon cuts all bread and dairy out of her diet, as well of all sugar and salt. And weighing herself becomes a morning ritual.
5thGrade: ( 5"1, 97lbs): She now wears nothing but baggy sweatshirts and sweatpants to try and hide her excessive weight loss from her parents. Every morning and night she has to weigh herself.
(5"1.4, 95lbs): She begins to cut herself, her skin becomes pale and lifeless. Her eyes begin to glaze over. Her hair, starts to fall out. She draws lines where she sees "fat" and stares at her body in discust for hours, just picking out her faults and hating them. Her walls are covered in "Vogue" magazine pages. Sometimes, she will just sit on her bed and stare at them, wishing she looked like them.

.....

Two and a half months later she is found in her room, dead. Doctors determined the death was caused by under nourishment, starvation.

What you say can and WILL make a difference. It's up to you weather that difference is positive, or negative.
And to those of you who might be following a similar path of the girl in this story, stop yourself and think. Why should you care what others think of you? God made you perfect. In his eyes, you look beautiful as you are naturally. Love yourself as he does you. Don't let Anna control you.
