Do You See Me?

A poem based on hoping someone will realize there are people who are suffering. Hoping someone will be able to tell them, they can see their pain.

A red orange sky
Crisp fluffy clouds
The setting of the sun disappearing
All I want is someone to see
To look deep into these irises
Where darkness has begun to seep
And no one can see beyond these warm brown eyes
I’m screaming
As people walk by
No one notices
My eyes begin to water
And all I want to hear
Is for someone to say,
“I see you. I see your pain.”
